“I was born in North London, the youngest of five children.  I loved school but not the lessons and was always ‘performing’ which was reflected in my school reports - not always in glowing terms! I've been singing ever since I can remember. When I was about seven years old I asked my mum if she would buy me the weekly magazine "Words" which contained the lyrics of popular songs played on the radio. I would listen to the Top 20 on a Sunday evening and sing along. When I was nine years old, mum sent me to a song and dance school which had opened up in our local church hall. I learnt tap, ballet, acrobatic and jazz dance as well as singing and I knew then that this would be my life. My mum nurtured me, giving me the best advice which was "When you sing, you are telling a story, make the people believe it.." At 14, I was spotted by a talent scout and joined a song and dance trio. It was the early seventies and girl trios were popping up all over the place. There were hundreds of cabaret theatres and clubs in the UK at that time and we were the perfect ‘support’ act to warm up the audiences before the star or "Top of the Bill" as they were known in those days..  After three years, the trio became a duo called "Lips" and for the next ten years we toured around the world performing in major venues.  I then became a solo artiste and sang in theatres, clubs and also on TV shows. It was on a UK TV show that I was seen by a bandleader who asked me to sing with his orchestra in Monaco. I performed at ‘Le Cabaret’ and ‘Le Sporting Club’ in Monte Carlo for five years and then joined a cruise ship for three years singing in production and cabaret shows around the Far East. I eventually came back to the South of France to concentrate on my Jazz repertoire, which gives me pure joy. I'm having the best time surrounded  by my team of talented musicians and all-round good guys. I'm a very lucky lady - and I'm still living the dream..!!!”
